The Art and Technology of Story Telling
Learn to inspire, teach, and connect with children through storytelling on September 29, 2010 at 5:30pm in the WG Library Community Room
"A good storyteller captures the listeners/readers attention; a great storyteller engages the listener/reader until the story becomes theirs"
-Momma Tee: the storyteller in Deborah T. Simon's stories.
Willow Glen in Motion is pleased to present its first open house, “The Art and Technology of Story Telling”. The open house is a dynamic interactive workshop presented by storyteller and educator Deborah T. Simon. As professional storyteller, Deborah uses stories as vehicles for learning. The advantages of telling stories and reading aloud to children include: building strong family bonds, preparing children for school, and establishing the foundation for lifelong learning. Storytelling can create a lasting bond between a parent and child.
The free event will be held at the community room in the Willow Glen library on Wednesday September 29, 2010 from 5:30-7:30pm. Go to our contact page and email us if you're interested, or just give us a call at 408.288.7886. Seating is limited.
Everyone uses stories; learn to use the story effectively. At the end of this experience participants will:
-
Understand why we use the story

Gain knowledge of historical and current perspectives of the story
Identify and practice using the elements of storytelling
Experience and discover why and how a story captures ones attention
Explore their storytelling styles
